The 2nd Greek- Russian Social Forum took place in the palace of Tabriz , located in St. Petersburg. The palace of Tabriz , a creation of Russian classicism of the end of XVIII century , was built by the decree of Empress Catherine II  in the years of 1783-1789 , according to the plans of architect Starov  for  Prince Potemkin .
Today the palace is the headquarters of the Interparliamentary Assembly of States - members of the Commonwealth of Independent States and also houses the transnational company «Mir» television and radio.
